Baptism

We baptize believers in obedience to Christ's command

We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.

Romans 6:4

What is baptism?

When followers of Jesus are baptized, they fulfill the command of Jesus (Matt. 28:19–20) and are submerged in water to identify with the death of Jesus and then rise out of the water to identify with his resurrection (Rom. 6:1–10; Col. 2:12).

Identifying with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus through baptism publicly declares that we believe that Jesus died for our sins, was buried, rose three days later, and now is alive and Lord over all of creation.

To learn more about baptism you can listen to this sermon on baptism.

Who should be baptized?

All disciples of Jesus must be baptized. If you’ve turned from your sin and are trusting in Jesus as your Savior & Lord, we invite you to obey Jesus’ command to be baptized as a public declaration that you are a disciple of Jesus.

Want to be baptized?

If you would like to be baptized at our next baptism celebration, please fill out the baptism form and you will be contacted by a pastor from the church.
